The One with Lots of Presents

As usual, we had a great Christmas! On Christmas Eve, we had dinner and opened presents at Steve's aunt and uncle's house. The highlight of the night for Talan was when Uncle John and Grandpa let him eat mountains of whipped cream. I'm surprised he didn't get sick!Talan was incredible at opening presents this year! He didn't waste any time and ended up with a laptop, Lego's, Playdoh, and some cute clothes. Tatum liked to eat the wrapping paper, and she also got some cute clothes and a few toys. Then we headed over to my parent's house for the 18th Annual Christmas Eve Talent Show. Since Talan is obsessed with tunnels, he built a cardboard tunnel for the train that goes around the Christmas tree for his talent. Tatum's talent was rolling around on the floor looking cute. Steve blew us all away with his talent by making an interactive white board with a key chain light, a laptop, and a proxima. And, I was pretty lame and just beat everyone in a word game for my "talent". Talan also jumped in with Tete and Grandma and played the recorder for a second talent! After all the Christmas Eve festivities, we actually had to wake Talan up on Christmas morning. From Santa, grandparents, aunts, and cousin Kalli he got another laptop, Elmo slippers, coloring books and markers, scissors, a shaving kit, foam letters, a letter train that spells his name, magnetic gears, books, a DVD, clothes, shoes, and probably some other stuff that I am forgetting. Tatum got rice and oatmeal cereal, a reading light to use in the dark when we drive, a Bumbo tray, clothes, a huge teddy bear, a personalized growth chart for her room, and letters to hang on her wall.

Now I understand why my parents were always happy just watching us open presents, instead of opening their own. I couldn't have cared less about my presents; I was just happy watching Talan and Tatum open theirs! However, I did get some nice Fiestaware :-)

cereal for Tatum? That made me laugh. What a fun Christmas! Isn't being a parent the best? Especially at Christmastime! I need to come visit you...
